Desert Inn Estates in east Las Vegas has been ranked the most affordable neighborhood in the city, according to a new study from Nextdoor.
The neighborhood, located northwest of the Clark County Wetlands Park, earned the top spot based on data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Tax Foundation, and the Bureau of Economic Analysis, combined with Nextdoor’s own platform data.
“Desert Inn Estates is a quiet, residential neighborhood,” the report states. “Known for its spacious homes and well-kept yards, it’s a peaceful retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle, yet conveniently close to shopping, dining, and entertainment options.”
The remaining top five most affordable Las Vegas neighborhoods in the Nextdoor study are Biltmore Bungalows, just northeast of Harry Reid International Airport; Opulence in Spring Valley in the southwest; Emerald Gardens in the southeast; and Pecos-Bonanza in the northeast.
The study also examined affordability across Nevada cities, finding that Hawthorne ranked as the most affordable city in the state, followed by West Wendover, Lovelock, Ely, and Carlin.
On a broader scale, a separate WalletHub study ranked North Las Vegas as the most affordable city in Nevada and 11th most affordable out of the 300 largest municipal areas in the country. The city of Las Vegas came in 17th and Henderson ranked 30th in that same study.
